Rooms at the Oaks

The main building accommodates the under threes and is divided into four play rooms. Our baby room has a designated cot rooms, and all rooms have the facility to provide sleeping areas.

All playrooms have direct access to their own outdoor space, providing free-flow Slideopportunities throughout the setting. There is also a new sensory room for the children to enjoy.

The Pre-School Unit accommodates the three-fives, supporting children’s preparation for school by them making a transition over to a new building.

Both the nursery and Pre-School building have a nursery office.

Nursery Grounds
The nursery grounds are surrounded by large grassed areas with a variety of established trees and shrubs. Each of the playrooms and the Pre-School has its own direct access to a well-resourced play area offering a variety of terrains. Rooms access the outdoor spaces in all weathers.

Children are taken on short walks with staff around the Selly Oak campus, and visit our partners in the local community throughout the year.

Forest School

We have two qualified Forest School Leaders and a further two who will complete their training in 2015.

At Forest School the children develop their skills in all areas of the curriculum, working individually and as a team to complete their tasks. The large site encourages exploration and imagination. There is also the chance for the children to work 1:1 with our trained staff to use bow saws, hand drills and other tools and equipment.
